Sometimes your room needs custom drapery but if that’s the case you’ll need to carve out a big chunk from your budget to accommodate that. It can be so worth it to have that wow that you get with a custom job but the cost is steep. Other times, and most often, it’s not in the budget and knowing where to get a ready-made curtain can be baffling. We recently did a pendant lighting roundup and now we’re helping you to figure out where to buy curtains in Canada. We’ve broken it down into 3 categories – Under $100, between $100-$200 and over $200. Note that this is per pair so even when a retailer sells them per panel we’ve doubled it.
WHERE TO BUY CURTAINS IN CANADA
LOW $ – (Under $100)
There are so many options for you if this is your price category. Lots of colour and lots of patterns. The one caution we have is that often the panels are very narrow and if you opt for only 1 panel per side it might look a little on the cheap side. Pay attention to the dimensions and if need be, beef it up by doing 2-3 curtain panels per side.
MID $ – ($100-$200)
Again, you have plenty of options at this price point. The fabric selections are a bit more luxurious and the dimensions are more generous. You might even trick people into thinking you had custom draperies made.
HIGH – (Over $200)
These are the drool worthy curtains. The price can range from $200 to over $1k so be careful here and know what you’re buying. If you’re getting to the top end of this range you might just be better having your curtains made custom. What you will find in this price point are luxurious fabrics like velvet and linen. They will be full and may even have some hand sewn finishes to them, like a special pleat.
